5-star Clemson football WR target Julian Fleming took an unofficial visit to Ohio State this weekend and seemingly enjoyed his time with the Buckeyes.
5-star WR Julian Fleming is at the top of a ton of recruiting boards.
Right now, though, it seems that he is beginning to narrow down his school choices as we approach the summer.
Though the Clemson football target is not expected to make a decision any time soon, he did reveal some insights into his recruitment during his visit up to Ohio State this weekend.
Fleming told Lettermen Row, a noted Ohio State website, that he enjoyed his visit and that Ohio State felt like home. Fleming went on to say that his mother likes new Buckeye coach Ryan Day and that it was important to him for her to get to meet the coach and for his family to spend some time with the staff.
One of the most interesting quotes out of the interview, though, was when Fleming said that two schools had separated themselves at this point. He also told Lettermen Row that he was setting up official visits and was looking to visit Ohio State for the Buckeyes’ game with Penn State.
"“There are two schools that have really separated themselves,” Fleming said via Lettermen Row. “Right now we’re setting up some official visits, trying to set them in stone. I’ll probably take an official visit to Ohio State for the Penn State game.”"
Thoughts:
Overall, I think we’re still a good ways out from Fleming making his official decision.
When he talks about two schools that have separated themselves from the group, you have to look at his top group. Fleming’s top-three are clearly Penn State, Ohio State and Clemson.
At this point, I would say that Penn State is definitely one of the two. After that, you could make an argument for both Clemson and Ohio State. 247 sports put in a recent crystal ball prediction for Clemson football- right before the Ohio State visit- which makes me think that Clemson is the other school that has separated itself.
We won’t know a whole lot more about Fleming’s recruitment for a while. He’ll announce his official visits soon and I know the Clemson football coaching staff would love to get him back on campus for the All-In Cookout this summer.
