4-star Clemson football commit Paul Tchio had an impressive showing at The Opening in Atlanta this past weekend, catching the attention of many in attendance.

The 2020 Clemson football recruiting class is shaping up to be one of the best in school history.

One reason for excitement about the overall prestige of this class has to do with the five 4-star offensive linemen that the Tigers have garnered commitments from.

4-stars Mitchell Mayes (6-foot-4, 306 pounds), Bryn Tucker (6-foot-5, 305 pounds), Walker Parks (6-foot-5, 275 pounds), John Williams (6-foot-5, 270 pounds) and Paul Tchio (6-foot-5, 299 pounds) have all announced commitments to Clemson football in this 2020 cycle.

All five of the guys are attempting to recruit for the Tigers, as well. That is especially true for Paul Tchio, the talented offensive lineman out of Alpharetta, Georgia.

Tchio has been very outspoken about the fact that he wants 5-star QB DJ Uiagalelei to be his quarterback during the majority of his Clemson football career and it’s clear that the offensive linemen are working hard on getting him to Tiger Town.

Outside of his positive recruiting for Clemson, Tchio is making a name for himself.

Despite the fact that he is already rated as the No. 5 offensive guard in the nation, Tchio is steadily climbing the rankings.

At The Opening Regionals in Atlanta this weekend, Tchio was named one of the top five offensive linemen of the weekend and was invited to The Opening Finals, where he’ll have a chance to compete to be named one of the top linemen in the nation.

He has lost some weight and looks really agile. His footwork is good and I really like what I’m seeing and hearing from Tchio. It’s tough to project whether or not he’ll play inside at guard or move outside to tackle at this point. He’s very good in both run-blocking and pass-protection, and that athleticism very well may be an asset for him to move outside.

One thing is clear, though. It won’t be long until we see Tchio move up the rankings even further. He may even come away with a fifth star before it’s all said and done.
