Could the Clemson football recruiting staff find a way to swing 5-star 2020 RB Demarkcus Bowman for the Florida Gators before it’s all said and done?

Clemson football is in good position to sign a ton of elite talent in the 2020 recruiting class.

The Tigers are currently favorites for several 5-star prospects, including QB DJ Uiagalelei, LB Antoine Sampah and DE Jordan Burch. Clemson is in good position for several others, as well.

The Clemson football coaching staff wants to take two running backs in this 2020 class.

Currently, the Tigers have zeroed in on two guys atop their board: 4-star RB Jaylan Knighton and 5-star RB Demarkcus Bowman, both of which are Florida products.

Knighton decommitted from Oklahoma back in January and named Clemson his leader after taking a visit to Tiger Town for Elite Junior Day. He is still undecided, though, and will be taking trips to several different campuses, including Florida State, before making a final decision.

Right now, I’d say the Tigers are in really good position to gain a commitment from him.

Demarkcus Bowman, on the other hand, is said to be a heavy Florida lean at this point.

Bowman made his third visit to Clemson back in January, picking up a scholarship offer, and said he really enjoyed his time during the visit.

Despite that, he has been considered to be favoring Florida for quite some time, but the Tigers are making a run.

He doesn’t have much of a timetable for his decision and I could see him holding out until December before he commits. Honestly, it may be better for the Tigers the longer he waits on a decision.

The key for Clemson football will be getting the talented 5-star RB back on campus, at least one more time. If they can do that, they’ll have a chance to sell Tiger Town to him once again.
