Clemson Football: 2021 Recruiting Class already beginning to take shape
While everyone is fully enthralled in the 2020 recruiting class, the Clemson football coaching staff is already working on the 2021 cycle, as well.
The 2020 Clemson football recruiting class has the potential to be one of the best in school history.
The Tigers are in good position with several key 5-star prospects, including guys like QB DJ Uiagalelei, WR Julian Fleming, DE Jordan Burch, DE Bryan Bresee and many others. The Tigers already have commitments from several 4-stars, including five offensive linemen that are consensus 4-star prospects.
While the 2020 Clemson football recruiting class is still taking shape, the coaching staff is already looking ahead to 2021.
Several key prospects in next year’s recruiting cycle have already expressed their interest in Clemson football and have been or will be making visits to Tiger Town very soon.
The Tigers have already identified some prospects in the 2021 class that they are planning to recruit hard. Perhaps the top player in that class is 5-star CB Tony Grimes.
Grimes, a native of Virginia Beach, VA, is rated as the No. 2 CB in the nation and he has already visited Clemson a couple of times, including a visit earlier this month. From all reports, Grimes has enjoyed his time in Tiger Town and has Clemson at the top of his list.
In addition to Grimes, Clemson is looking to go after guys like 5-star DT Katron Evans, 5-star OT Micah Morris, 5-star CB Ga-Quincky McKinstry, 4-star CB Gabe Stephens and 5-star WR Julian Nixon.
4-star DE Landyn Watson announced on Twitter that he’d be visiting Clemson during the upcoming spring game. I’d expect several other 2021 prospects to follow suit in the coming weeks.
Overall, this class has potential to be great just as the 2020 cycle. It will be interesting to see when the Tigers get their first commitment for the 2021 class, as well as who they choose to target once we get into the fall and the 2020 class, as well as scholarship situations are more defined.
