Clemson football received yet another talented commitment along the offensive line for the 2020 recruiting class, this time from Tennessee native Bryn Tucker.

The 2020 Clemson football recruiting class is shaping up to be special.

Just a couple of days ago, the Tigers received a commitment from 4-star OL Mitchell Mayes and then Thursday evening, 4-star OL Bryn Tucker announced that he would be attending Clemson, as well.

Tucker made the fifth offensive line commitment in the class. All five of the commitments are 4-stars.

Most likely, he was the last offensive line commitment that we’re going to see. There’s potential that the Tigers could take one more if the prospect was the right fit, perhaps an elite 5-star or really good 4-star that they think would fit the program well, but most likely, that’s it.

Tucker was considered a heavy Clemson football lean for quite some time and that proved to be true Thursday evening when he picked the Tigers and announced that his recruitment would be coming to a close.

Analysis:

The main critique of Tucker centers on his lack of foot speed. Many analysts project him as a tackle, but I think he projects inside as a guard.

Tucker, currently, is 6-foot-5 and 305 pounds. He’ll need to put on a little bit of weight to play on the interior of the offensive line and I think he’s going to do just that. I think you’ll see him- at some point during his senior season- regain his fifth star that he lost a couple of months ago and, also, put on a little weight.

Once he gets on campus, I expect Tucker to undergo intensive training with Joey Batson and, before it’s all said and done, I think you’ll see him play at around 320-330 pounds. His big 6-foot-5 frame certainly allows for him to add weight.

Though Tucker doesn’t have elite foot speed, what is elite is his strength and ability to push defenders off the ball. He finishes his blocks and can be seen blocking down the field. He is a physical guy that certainly has all the measurables to be projected as a starter and really solid player for the Tigers in the future.
