Clemson Football: 4-star WR EJ Williams returning for a fifth visit
2020 Clemson football target EJ Williams- a 4-star WR of Phenix City, Alabama- will return to Tiger Town for his fifth overall visit.
The 2020 Clemson football recruiting class could potentially be the best in the nation and one of the top classes in school history.
The Tigers have a ton of star-power that they are recruiting and it seems that this class could be as good as we’ve seen under Dabo Swinney.
Part of Clemson’s continued recruiting success has been the ability to sign elite wide receivers. One of the top receiver targets in the 2020 class is 4-star EJ Williams.
Williams, a Phenix City, Alabama product, will be making his fifth overall visit to Tiger Town this weekend as part of Clemson football’s second junior day.
Williams told Tigernet that he has been in constant contact with the Clemson football coaching staff and that Jeff Scott perceives him developing into the 9-man receiver for the Tigers.
Currently Clemson wide receiver Justyn Ross was a native of Phenix City, Alabama. In the interview with Tigernet, Williams did say that he was planning to make a decision in December and that both of the in-state schools- Alabama and Auburn- are still in play.
Right now, he is doing his due diligence and making visits, enjoying the recruiting process and feeling out each program.
Though Williams hasn’t named a leader, I would speculate that Clemson football is the current leader. But, I’d also say that his recruitment is a far way from being over. It takes a lot to pull players out of the state of Alabama, but Clemson has proven successful over the past few years.
Williams will make several more visits before making an official decision, but the Tigers have to like where they are at this point in his recruitment.
