Clemson Football: 5 Tigers who have the opportunity to have a huge spring

3. Xavier Kelly, DT

Xavier Kelly came into Clemson as a highly-touted 4-star defensive end. Kelly decided to move inside to the defensive tackle position and played as a depth guy last season.

He’ll be relied upon to do much more than this season.

Not only was Kelly already going to be relied upon to be a second-stringer, he’s now going to go into spring practice as a first-stringer. With the injuries to Nyles Pinckney and Jordan Williams, Kelly is the next man up.

He’s going to get a lot of snaps and a ton of chances to prove himself.

I think he takes advantage and comes away squarely in the mix to not only play a lot of snaps, but to start at a defensive tackle position.
