Clemson Football: 5 Early Enrollees who will compete for playing time

5. Sheridan Jones, 4-star CB

Jones enters a cornerback room that already includes several talented athletes.

The Tigers have AJ Terrell locked in as a starter at one side and then they have guys like Kyler McMichael, Mario Goodrich, LeAnthony Williams and Brian Dawkins Jr. that will all look to compete for playing time this season.

I do think you’ll especially see McMichael and Goodrich step up and get playing time at the corner positions, but Jones certainly has a shot to work his way up into the three-deep, possibly the two-deep before it’s all said and done.

Fellow freshman Andrew Booth- who is not an early enrollee- has a great chance to win that starting position when he arrives later this year, but I do believe that Jones has the ability and talent to work his way into the depth chart and get playing time as a true-freshman.
