Clemson Football: Could the 2020 recruiting class be the best in school history?
Two days removed from National Signing Day, coaches have turned their attention to the 2020 cycle. Could that class be the best in Clemson football history?
The Clemson football 2019 recruiting class finished as a consensus top-10 class in the nation.
The Tigers went after several high-profile prospects and landed many of them, but perhaps the next year’s cycle will be even better.
As a matter of fact, the Tigers have a ton of talented 5-stars and 4-stars on their board heading into the 2020 cycle. Already here in February, Clemson has earned commitments from seven players, six of which are 4-stars.
Clemson is in great position with many other talented players from around the country. So, it begs the question: Could the 2020 recruiting cycle be the best in Clemson football history?
An Early Look at 2020:
One of the leaders on the Tigers’ recruiting board is 5-star QB DJ Uiagalelei. Clemson is in good position to land him and, right now, seems to be the leader to win his services.
In addition to Uiagalelei, the Tigers are in decent position with 5-stars WR Julian Fleming, DE Bryan Bresee, LB Antoine Sampah, DE Jordan Burch and several other elite prospects.
I’m not saying that Clemson will sign all of these guys, but I think this could be the most talented class on paper to ever be assembled in a single recruiting cycle for the Tigers.
The amount of 5-stars that are seriously interested in Clemson is uncanny. There are a ton of 4-stars that are high on the Tigers. As a matter of fact, I think we’ve already seen the Tigers back off of some 4-stars to pursue some of those more elite players.
This is shaping up to be a great class and I wouldn’t be surprised to see it finish inside the top-three in the nation before it’s all said and done.
But, we’re a long way from anything being certain as of yet.
