3. Dexter Lawrence
Dexter Lawrence, a member of the class of 2016, was the No. 2 rated defensive tackle in the nation, as well as the No. 2 overall player in the country.
The only defensive tackle- and player- ahead of him? Michigan’s Rashan Gary. For reference, Houston’s Ed Oliver was third on the list of defensive tackles.
That was a special defensive tackle class, for sure.
But, I still would take Big Dex over the other two guys. I guess it depends what you’re looking for, but Lawrence proved to be the best run-stopper in the nation and- at 340 pounds- he is absolutely dominant on that interior line.
Lawrence wasn’t able to play his last two games as a Clemson football player due to a failed drug test, but he still will leave Tiger Town as one of the best defensive tackles to ever play.
