Clemson Football: Top 10 Highest Ranked Commitments of All-Time
5. Roscoe Crosby
Roscoe Crosby is the highest-rated wide receiver to ever sign with Clemson football.
The class of 2001 member was rated as the No. 1 overall wide receiver in the nation. Crosby was a talented two-sport athlete, but tragedy struck his life.
He was a second-round draft pick by the Kansas City Royals, but chose to come to Clemson and play football, as well. Unfortunately, Crosby suffered an arm injury and had to have elbow surgery.
In the span of a year, Crosby lost three of his friends who died in a car accident on their way to see him play baseball, and then his brother drowned that following year.
He tried professional baseball and football at points after leaving Clemson, but was never able to make that work.
Now, he works as a counselor helping kids and continuing to coach, as well.
