What will 4-star linebacker Kevin Swint bring to Clemson football? Here’s an early look at the new 2020 Tiger commitment.

The 2020 Clemson football recruiting class picked up two talented commitments this past weekend in the form of 4-stars Kevin Swint and Tre Williams.

Swint, a talented linebacker out of Carrolton, Georgia, was considering Clemson and Georgia, but was said to favor the Tigers for quite some time.

He made that commitment official this weekend during Clemson’s first Elite Junior Day.

Here’s a look at the talented 4-star.

Clemson Football Recruiting Profile:

Name: Kevin Swint

Hometown: Carrollton, Georgia

Height: 6-3

Weight: 220

Star Rating: 4-star, Nation’s No. 13 Linebacker

Analysis:

Swint will either play outside linebacker or potentially defensive end at Clemson. I expect him to play outside linebacker, but he certainly has the ability to get off the edge and create a pass-rush.

As a matter of fact, that’s one of the things he does best.

Swint is able to time blitzes perfectly and get in the backfield. That kind of ability allows him to get to the quarterback and disrupt the offense.

He has gotten better in pass-coverage during his high school career, as well. He’s got plenty of speed and athleticism to stick with wide receivers and play that linebacker role effectively.

Swint joins 4-star linebacker Sergio Allen as the second linebacker to commit in the class. Allen is more of an inside linebacker, though, so these two guys could be a great duo and complement each other greatly during their respective college careers.

It will be interesting to see what Swint is able to accomplish in his senior year of high school. He has the potential to be an extremely talented linebacker for Clemson before it’s all said and done.
