Even after losing Hunter Renfrow, Clemson football is stocked at wide receiver. The Tigers have a ton of NFL-caliber players at the position this coming season.
People saying that Clemson football is #WRU know what they’re talking about.
The Tigers have already put several talented wide receivers in the NFL like DeAndre ‘Nuk’ Hopkins, Sammy Watkins, Jaron Brown, Artavis Scott, Mike Williams, Deon Cain, Ray-Ray McCloud and Adam Humphries, just to name a few.
Hopkins has turned into the best wide receiver in the league, in my opinion, and there are several others on the rise like Williams, Cain and Watkins.
Hunter Renfrow will be the next Clemson football wide receiver to find himself on an NFL roster.
But, after Renfrow, the Tigers have plenty more NFL-bound talent at the position. Here’s a look at players that are currently on the roster that will play in the NFL someday.
Tee Higgins, Amari Rodgers, Justyn Ross, Derion Kendrick, Joe Ngata, Frank Ladson, Diondre Overton. Even guys like TJ Chase or Cornell Powell will get a look at the next level.
Right now, though, I’d say that there is a great chance that Higgins, Rodgers, Ross, Kendrick, as well as Ladson and Ngata get drafted. With a big year this upcoming season, Overton could also enter those ranks.
When you have that much talent at wide receiver and one of the most talented quarterbacks in the nation, it makes for an absolutely lethal combination.
I believe the Tigers have the opportunity to have the best offense in the nation by leaps and bounds this upcoming season because of that QB-WR combination and the high-powered rushing attack, as well.
It will be fun to see all of these guys perform this upcoming season and to see how the coaching staff tries to get all of them on the field.
I expect to see a lot of four wide-out sets to get these guys snaps and make the defense respect the passing game, which will in turn open up the running game.
