The only uncommitted Clemson football target for the 2019 class that will attend the parade is 4-star running back Jerrion Ealy.

Clemson football running back target Jerrion Ealy announced his de-commitment from Ole Miss earlier this week.

The 4-star running back prospect will visit Tiger Town Saturday and will be in Clemson for all of the National Championship parade festivities, as well as to visit with coaches on what may be his final visit of his football recruitment.

Ealy was named the Offensive MVP of the Under Armour All-American game and he broke a record in that game, rushing for a total of 116 yards. For anyone that watched him play, you can see just how talented the 4-star running back is.

He is explosive and would fit right into Clemson’s talented backfield.

The problem, really, isn’t any other school. The Tigers are the favorites right now. The problem is another sport.

Ealy is considered to be a top draft pick in this coming year’s MLB Draft. If he chose the baseball route, he’d never see the field. For those of you that don’t know, baseball players aren’t required to go to college.

If they get drafted out of high school, they can choose to begin their professional career right after that. Should Ealy choose baseball, he’d opt out of playing football.

That’s the decision that he’s making right now. Ealy is going to commit to a school on National Signing Day in February. But, you won’t know if he’s actually going to play collegiate football until after the MLB Draft a few months later.

Should he choose to come to Clemson, I’d imagine that there’d be a great chance that Ealy attempts to play both football and baseball.

There’s a high risk/reward scenario with the talented prospect and it will be interesting to see what he chooses in the end.
