The Clemson football team will take on the Alabama Crimson Tide for the fourth year in a row Monday night when the two teams square off in the National Championship game.
To get more insight on the Crimson Tide, we reached out to our friends at Bama Hammer.
Here’s what Ronald Evans, site expert at Bama Hammer, had to say about the game Monday.
1. First, let’s start with a popular topic. Many are saying that Bama vs. Clemson is bad for the sport. What’s your thoughts?
Evans: There is so much national, Alabama fatigue, I think most of our fans either ignore it or enjoy it. What I think is, whining is bad for the sport. Except for the Crimson Tide and Clemson, every program in the nation has some serious catching up to do. There can never be anything bad about the nation’s two best teams competing for a national championship.
2.These two teams are familiar with on another. What areas do you think Bama can exploit when play against Clemson?
Evans: First, I think the game will be won in the trenches. The team that gets the most QB pressure without blitzing is likely to win. Tua has amazing accuracy and he has lots of targets. Not sure Clemson DBs can cover the Tide wideouts but swing passes to Josh Jacobs might be the Tide’s toughest component to defend.
3. Who are some Alabama guys that we may not talk about a lot that will make an impact in the game?
Evans: Jacobs and Irv Smith Jr. who is better than O.J. Howard was.
4. Can you give me a prediction on the game?
Evans: Honestly, I don’t know yet. I was very impressed with Clemson against Notre Dame but I think the Irish were over-rated. I respect what Dabo has built at Clemson. I am more concerned about Clemson than any game this season. Best guess this far out is the Tide covers.
