It’s officially here. The Clemson football team will begin preparation in Dallas for its upcoming matchup with Notre Dame in the CFB Playoff.

The Clemson football team has been preparing for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish for a couple of weeks now.

But, game week is now officially here.

The Tigers touched down in Dallas Sunday and are ready to put in a week’s worth of work in preparation for the huge College Football Playoff matchup Saturday.

Initial Thoughts:

Of course as we get closer to kickoff, we’ll be giving you our predictions and analysis for the game. But, my initial thoughts are very positive coming into this week.

The team seems focused and motivated for the task at hand. They won’t be overlooking Notre Dame and know that the Irish plan on giving them their best when the two teams match up Saturday afternoon.

I think having veterans like Christian Wilkins, Hunter Renfrow, Clelin Ferrell, Austin Bryant and many others could be the difference for the Tigers in the end.

Clemson will have the benefit of having players that know what it’s like to win College Football Playoff games and advance to the National Championship. I can guarantee you that none of those veterans want to leave Texas without a win.

They’ll do whatever they can to come up with a victory and prolong their Clemson football career by a game.

Next. Is the Cotton Bowl a 'must-win' for the Clemson program?. dark

Other than the veteran factor, I think the biggest things to watch will be Notre Dame quarterback Ian Book and that wide receiver corp go up against Clemson’s secondary and to see how the Tigers’ offensive line will deal with the pressure that Notre Dame is going to bring defensively to try and rattle Trevor Lawrence early.

It should be a fun one and make sure you check back here on Rubbing the Rock throughout the week as we breakdown every facet of this game.
