Clemson football will take on the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in the Cotton Bowl. Here are our predictions for the bowl games from around the ACC.

The Clemson football team will take on the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in the first round of the CFB Playoff in the Cotton Bowl.

The Tigers will be looking to advance to the National Championship game for the third time in the last four years.

Outside of the playoff, the rest of the ACC will be looking to make a statement with some intriguing bowl games around the country.

Here’s our predictions and analysis for the bowl games taking place around the conference.

ACC Bowl Game Schedule, Predictions:

Saturday, Dec. 22

Wake Forest vs. Memphis, Birmingham Bowl

Wake Forest has a solid offense, but I’ll take Memphis to come away with the win. The Tigers have been a solid Group of Five team this year and I think they win a close one.

Wednesday, Dec. 26

Boston College vs. Boise State, First Responders Bowl

This will be a fun one. I’m going to take Boston College because of their physicality, but don’t underestimate Boise State.

Georgia Tech vs. Minnesota, Quick Lane Bowl

Who knows about this one? I favor Minnesota, but PJ Fleck said several starters will not play in this one. I’m going to take the Gophers, but it’s a tough one to pick one way or another.

Thursday, Dec. 27

Duke vs. Temple, Independence Bowl

Daniel Jones and that Duke offense pull past Temple.

More from Rubbing the Rock

Miami vs. Wisconsin, Pinstripe Bowl

This is a battle of two teams that thought they had CFB Playoff aspirations, but ended up not being anywhere near playoff-worthy. Jonathan Taylor and that Wisconsin power run game get the job done in this one because Miami is, for lack of a better term, soft.

Friday, Dec. 28

Syracuse vs. West Virginia, Camping World Bowl

I was really looking forward to this game until Will Grier chose to sit it out. I thought it could be a 60-56-type game with a ton of scoring and no defense. Well, it still might be something like that, but I’m taking Syracuse to get the job done.

Saturday, Dec. 29

Virginia vs. South Carolina, Belk Bowl

Deebo Samuel will not be playing in this one, but I still think South Carolina is the better team. I think the Gamecocks get the job done, but they don’t win easily.

Monday, Dec. 31

Virginia Tech vs. Cincinnati, Military Bowl

Virginia Tech is going to have a tough time with Cincinnati. I’m taking the Bearcats to beat the Hokies.

Pittsburgh vs. Stanford, Sun Bowl

Pittsburgh wins this one. I’m just not sold on Stanford.

NC State vs. Texas A&M, Gator Bowl

Ryan Finley is playing in the Gator Bowl. That means I’m going to take the Wolfpack to beat Texas A&M in the Gator Bowl.
