Which Clemson football underclassmen are considering option out for the NFL Draft? Here’s a look at some thoughts following the Tigers’ media day.
The Clemson football team is focused in on Notre Dame. That much is sure heading into the Cotton Bowl matchup.
After the Tigers held their on-campus media day Tuesday, it was clear that the team was completely focused on taking care of the Irish and still had a sour taste in their mouth from losing to Alabama a year ago in the first round of the College Football Playoff.
Even though the players are focused in on the game, many analysts are looking ahead to the future. Several Clemson football underclassmen were asked about their NFL decision and if they’d be deciding to leave early or come back for another year of football.
Here’s a look at the underclassmen who are considering and where we think they stand here in the middle of December.
Keep in mind that no player has officially announced they are leaving, these are just our speculations based upon what they players have said and what sources have said, as well.
- DT Dexter Lawrence: Leaving for NFL Draft

- S Tanner Muse: Leaning towards NFL Draft
- LB Isaiah Simmons: Leaning towards NFL Draft
- CB Trayvon Mullen: Most likely leaving for NFL Draft
- OL Tremayne Anchrum: Returning
- LB Tre Lamar: Undecided, not leaning either way
- DB K’Von Wallace: Leaning towards NFL Draft
- TE Garrett Williams: Undecided
- OL Sean Pollard: Returning

Clelin Ferrell did say that no one knows what he’ll do, so you could see some surprises in that regard, but I think right now you’ll see Lawrence, Ferrell and Mullen declare for the NFL Draft, most likely. And I do think there’s a good chance you see a few guys like Muse, Simmons and Wallace declare even with lower draft grades.
It may all depend on how things go the rest of this season, but the success of the 2019 Tiger team will definitely hinge on the decisions of some of these upperclassmen.
