Clemson Football Recruiting: 4-star DT Target set to announce decision
Clemson football has just a few targets remaining in the 2019 cycle. 4-star defensive tackle Tyler Davis is on top of the Tigers’ list.
There are just a few remaining targets left in the 2019 Clemson football recruiting cycle.
The Tigers are looking to reel in a couple more offensive linemen and at least one more defensive tackle. On top of the list for Clemson football on the defensive line is 4-star Tyler Davis, of Apopka, Florida.
The talented 4-star prospect will be announcing his decision at 8:15 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 19. Davis is choosing between Clemson and Florida State.
Crystal Ball:
As of right now, Clemson seems to be the favorite to win his services. From all sources, he loves the Clemson football program and the atmosphere in Tiger Town.
He’ll develop into a nose tackle-type of defensive lineman for the Tigers. Currently, Davis measures at 6-foot-1 and 293 pounds. You’ll have to see him bulk up a little bit before it’s all said and done, but I do think he has the potential to be a really talented defensive lineman for Clemson.
Davis isn’t the type of lineman- like a Christian Wilkins or Dexter Lawrence- that is going to come in right away and play a ton of snaps, but he certainly has the potential to develop into a powerful and dominant interior lineman.
Other Targets:
The other “big” targets for Clemson right now are mostly on the offensive line. On the board, you’ll see 4-star OL Will Putnam, 3-star OL Cooper Dawson and 5-star LB Quavaris Crouch as the main targets recruiting services are talking about when mentioning the Tigers.
Currently, Putnam is said to be leaning towards Florida State, but hasn’t made a decision yet. Crouch is trending towards Tennessee, but I still think the Tigers have a chance to pick him up.
Dawson is a guy that could provide depth for the Clemson offensive line, but right now Syracuse is said to be the favorite. The Tigers just offered him a full scholarship a few weeks ago in hopes of picking up a commitment from the in-state product.
