Former Clemson football wide receiver Mike Williams is making a splash with the Los Angeles Chargers.

Williams, who was drafted seventh overall by the Chargers in the NFL Draft, has slowly become one of the best wide receivers in the game.

Last night in the Chargers’ 29-28 win over Kansas City, Williams had seven receptions for 76 yards and two touchdowns and one rushing attempt for 19 yards and a touchdown. Williams caught his final touchdown pass of the night with four seconds left to put the Chargers within one and then he caught the two-point conversion pass for the win.

Analysis:

I’ve always loved what Mike Williams brings to the table. He is physical able to out-man a lot of cornerbacks from around the league.

In College, Deshaun Watson was basically just able to throw it up and Williams would go get it.

That’s basically been the case since he’s gotten adjusted to the NFL level, as well. He’s been a great asset for Phillip Rivers and that Charger offense and is a big reason why the Chargers are in the position that they’re at.

I’ve really enjoyed seeing progression of Williams and how dominant he’s been. Thursday night was his third multi-touchdown night of the season and he’s becoming more and more of a threat to opposing defenses.

I know he’s just in his second year as a wide out in the NFL, but I truly believe that he’s becoming one of the best in the league.

Clemson football produces the best wide receivers and that’s continuing to come to fruition. The Chargers found a gem with their 2017 NFL Draft pick and I expect Williams to just continue to get better.

He’s got all the measureables needed to be successful and I think we’re going to see him playing at a high level in the league for a long time to come.
