Clemson football assistant coaches can expect for big salary increases if they choose to stay with the Tigers for another year.

According to USA Today, Clemson football assistant coaches rank second in the nation in total salaries.

The Tigers’ assistants, who made collectively $6.825 million this year, rank just behind Ohio State ($7.383 million).

While the Clemson football assistants are already making good money, you can expect to see their respective salaries increase following this season should they choose to stay with the Tiger program.

Clemson Assistants:

Currently, Brent Venables makes $2.2 million as the defensive coordinator for Clemson football. Venables’ name was rumored early for the Texas Tech head coaching job, which has since been filled.

His name has also been in the loop to replace legendary coach Bill Snyder at Kansas State. The latest reports, though, don’t really think Venables is an option for the Wildcats.

These rumors will continue through bowl season and after the 2018 season comes to a close. There are several other jobs that could open up and it will be interesting to see if any of them want to reach out to Brent Venables.

Jeff Scott ($851K) and Tony Elliott ($876K) have both been rumored with other jobs, as well. Tony Elliott told the media a week ago that he hasn’t been contacted by anyone. Georgia Tech has been rumored to be interested in Elliott, as well as some other small schools.

Scott has also been rumored with a few smaller schools, as well. It also has been reported that Willie Taggart is interested in Scott being hired as the offensive coordinator of FSU, but I don’t think that makes much sense.

We’ll continue to update you on the coaching rumors that could affect Clemson football. If these assistants choose to stay in Tiger Town, though, they’re going to be getting nice salary raises. Keeping a staff together has been one of the successes of Dabo Swinney.

The assistants seem happy and are content with where they’re at. That’s something you don’t see everywhere and it’s certainly a credit to all parties involved.
