Clemson football will take on Notre Dame in the Cotton Bowl. Here’s the early thoughts from Irish fans on the CFB Playoff matchup.

The Clemson football team finished the regular season undefeated and then won the ACC Championship to put a record together of 13-0.

The Tigers were given their fourth-straight CFB Playoff bid Sunday afternoon. It was announced that Clemson would be playing Notre Dame in the Cotton Bowl for a chance to advance to the National Championship.

It’s been pretty clear that the consensus from most early on is that Clemson is the favorite to win the game.

The Tigers are 11.5 point favorites in many opening lines, but many Notre Dame fans really believe their team has a chance against Clemson and why shouldn’t they? Anything can happen in College Football and both teams will have several weeks to prepare and get ready for each other.

Here’s what several analysts and Notre Dame fans had to say about the matchup.

First of all, I think people need to learn how to spell “Dabo Swinney.” It’s not really that hard and it makes your argument seem more legit.

Anyway, we see that there are several Notre Dame fans who believe the Fighting Irish have a chance to get the job done against the Tigers. I definitely believe Notre Dame will have a chip on their shoulder after being picked against by most of the media.

With that being said, I just think the Tigers are the better team. Clemson has more speed than Notre Dame and I just believe it’s going to take the Tigers making some mistakes for Notre Dame to have a chance.
