Clemson football will represent the ACC in the CFB Playoff later this December. Here’s a look at the other bowl games in the conference.

It was announced Sunday that Clemson football would be heading back to its fourth-straight CFB Playoff to take on the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in the Cotton Bowl.

The Tigers will have a chance to advance to the National Championship game for a third time in the last four years with a win.

While Clemson finished the season undefeated and won the ACC Championship for a fourth-straight year, there are several other teams in the conference that will play in bowl games throughout the annual bowl season.

Here’s a look at the 11 bowl games that will be played by teams in conference.

ACC Bowl Matchups:

  • Cotton Bowl (CFB Playoff- Dallas): Clemson vs. Notre Dame
  • Camping World Bowl (Orlando): Syracuse vs. West Virginia
  • Tax Slayer Bowl (Jacksonville): NC State vs. Texas A&M
  • Pinstripe Bowl (New York): Miami vs. Wisconsin
  • Belk Bowl (Charlotte): Virginia vs. South Carolina
  • Sun Bowl (El Paso): Pittsburgh vs. Stanford
  • Independence Bowl (Shreveport): Duke vs. Temple
  • Quick Lane Bowl (Detroit): Georgia Tech vs. Minnesota
  • First Responders Bowl (Dallas): Boston College vs. Boise State
  • Birmingham Bowl (Birmingham): Wake Forest vs. Memphis
  • Military Bowl (Annapolis): Virginia Tech vs. Cincinnati

Early Thoughts:

Other than Clemson, there aren’t many ACC teams that I favor in these matchups. I really think the Syracuse-West Virginia game could be a fun one for those who like offense.

NC State-Texas A&M will also be an interesting one to watch. Miami and Wisconsin is a bowl game that is a matchup of what used to be two New Year’s Six opponents.

It will be interesting to see how Boston College (Boise State), Wake Forest (Memphis) and Virginia Tech (Cincinnati) play against some of the top group of five teams in the nation.

Next. CFB Playoff committee got it right. dark

I’d expect the Eagles to be favored, but I’m not sure about the Demon Deacons or the Hokies.

It should be a fun bowl season for the conference and there are some intriguing matchups to see here in December.
