Here are keys to a victory, game information and much more for Clemson football’s matchup with the Pittsburgh Panthers Saturday night.
The Clemson football team will take on the Pittsburgh Panthers Saturday night in the ACC Championship.
The Tigers will be looking for their fourth-straight conference championship and could basically lock up a spot in the College Football Playoff with a win.
Here is everything you need to know and keys to a victory for the matchup.
Broadcast Information:
For those of you that won’t be making it to Charlotte Saturday, here’s a look at the broadcast information you need to know.
The game will kickoff at 8 p.m. in Bank of America Stadium. For those watching at home, it will be broadcast on ABC with Chris Fowler (play-by-play), Kirk Herbstreit (color) and Maria Taylor (sideline) on the call.
If you want to listen to it on the radio, you can hear the game on any Clemson Tigers Sports Affiliates or download the WCCPFM app to stream it. Don Munson (play-by-play), Rodney Williams (color) and Reggie Merriweather (color) will be the radio announcers.
The Tiger Pregame Show will begin at 2 p.m. on WCCP or WCCPFM app. Following that, the Tiger Tailgate show will broadcast beginning at 5 p.m. Some radio affiliates will play that show, but you can always stream it on the WCCP roar app.
Keys to a Victory:
- Don’t turn the ball over
- Force Pitt to throw the ball
- Establish control
If the Tigers can refrain from turning the ball over and establish control of this one early, they’ll win this game.
The only chance Pitt has if it they can get their passing game going and somehow keep the Clemson football defense on the field.
The Panthers have relied on their run game all season, so the Tigers need to shut that down and force Kenny Pickett to beat them through the air. As bad as the secondary looked last week, I still don’t believe Pickett can do enough to beat them consistently because he just doesn’t have the depth at wide receiver.
It should be a fun one and I’d expect the Tigers to take control early and come away with that important ACC Championship.
