The Clemson football team will take on the Pitt Panthers in the ACC Championship game Saturday. Here is our scoring prediction for the matchup.
The Clemson football team finished the regular season undefeated with a perfect 12-0 record.
The Tigers will now be going for their fourth-straight ACC Championship with their eyes on not only winning the conference, but making it back to the College Football Playoff and having a chance at a National Championship.
The only thing standing in the way? The Pitt Panthers.
Here is our final analysis for the Tigers vs. the Panthers.
Analysis:
Pittsburgh’s offense really relies on establishing the run. Qadree Ollison is already over 1,000 yards rushing for the year and his counterpart Darrin Hall (935) is very close.
Kenny Pickett, the Pitt quarterback, can be a solid passer of the football every now and then, but the focus for Pitt will be running the football, which Clemson has proven time and time again that it is more than capable of stopping.
For the Panthers to have a chance, they’re going to have to rely on Pickett to throw the ball and he just doesn’t have the wide receiver talent and depth to make that work.
I think the Tigers will be able to limit the Pitt offense and I believe Clemson football shouldn’t have a ton of trouble scoring points on Pitt, either.
Scoring Prediction:
Clemson 45, Pittsburgh 7
In the end, I see the Tigers taking care of business and picking up that fourth-straight conference championship. It may be close for a little while and the offense may come out a little slower than last week, but I think we’ll still see plenty of fireworks and a much improved defense from the Clemson football perspective.
