Hunter Renfrow is set to make a huge impact in the postseason for Clemson football in his final few outings for the Tigers.
We’re officially in the postseason for Clemson football.
The Tigers finished the regular season with a perfect 12-0 record and will now look to lock up a spot in the College Football Playoff with a win over Pittsburgh in the ACC Championship game.
A win in the ACC Championship would give Clemson four-straight conference titles.
As we head into the postseason, there’s one player that will make an impact for the Tigers in a way unlike anyone else. That man is Hunter Renfrow.
Renfrow is respected as a wide receiver and catcher of the football, but for some reason we forget about him a lot of times when we talk about highlights in close games.
In many games throughout his career, Renfrow is the guy that makes a game-changing catch on a 3rd down that leads to a long drive by the Clemson offense. He is the guy that comes up with a catch that shouldn’t be caught.
That impact shouldn’t be forgotten.
For Clemson football to win a National Championship, the Tigers are going to have to play a close game somewhere down the stretch. Probably multiple ones.
In those games, Trevor Lawrence is going to rely on Hunter Renfrow to come away with some catches to get the offense going and keep drives alive.
Renfrow’s impact may not show up in the end zone, but he will be much-needed for the Tigers to get a win or two in the postseason.
Don’t ever forget the role that Hunter Renfrow plays in this team. He’s a great leader and much-respected wide receiver, but his biggest role is “clutch catcher.” He just always seems to be the hero or rescuer for this offense and that will be needed for the Tigers as they progress in the off season.
