The Clemson football team will take on the Pittsburgh Panthers in the ACC Championship Game this Saturday. Here’s the early Vegas odds for the matchup.
The Clemson football team finished the regular season for 2018 undefeated.
The Tigers are just one of a few teams to finish with a perfect record on the season and are ranked No. 2 in the nation currently.
Clemson is looking to get back to the College Football Playoff for a fourth-straight year. The only thing standing in the way of the Tigers? An ACC Championship game against the Pitt Panthers.
The last time these two teams squared off on the football field, Pitt came away with a victory in Death Valley. Clemson went on to win the National Championship that year, but the Tigers have clearly been looking for a chance to avenge themselves against the Panthers for quite some time now.
They’ll finally have a chance to do that Saturday night in Charlotte.
Here are the early Vegas odds for the 2018 ACC Championship Game.
Vegas Odds
Opening Line: Clemson -24
Analysis:
Some spreads have already climbed to as large as 26, but the opening line for this game is set at 24 points.
Pitt is coming off a loss to Miami in which the Panthers got shutout 24-0. I think the oddsmakers know exactly what they’re talking about when they placed this spread on the game.
Clemson should be the clear favorite and the Tigers should be able to come out and establish control early. That doesn’t always happen, but I think you’ll see a really good effort from Clemson football this week after having several talking heads doubt them because “they only beat South Carolina by 21.”
It’s a strange world we live in when your only complaint is that you didn’t beat a team as bad as you wanted to. Tiger fans should be happy with a 12-0 season and I think there’s a great chance Clemson moves to 13-0 after this Saturday and is set for yet another round of playoff football.
