Clemson Football: Keys to a Victory vs. Boston College
How does Clemson football come out of Chestnut Hill with a win? Here are our keys to a victory for the Tigers against Boston College.
The Clemson football team will play its toughest road test of the season Saturday night against the Boston College Eagles.
The game will be televised at 8 p.m. on ABC and featured on ESPN College GameDay.
So, what are the keys to a victory? Let’s take a look at what it will take for the Tigers to bring home a win and clinch the ACC Atlantic Division.
Keys to a victory:
- Get off to a quick start
The offense needs to get out to a quick start tonight. The Tigers finally scored quickly last week against Louisville, but for the most part, we haven’t seen them get out to much of a blazing beginning in the first quarter.

If Clemson can get a couple of quick scores on the board, it will take Boston College out of the game. This is the type of game where the Tigers could take control of the game early. If they don’t establish control, though, Boston College could stay in the game and make it a fight in the fourth quarter.
- Don’t turn the ball over
Don’t turn the ball over, it’s that simple.
The one thing Clemson can’t afford to do is to throw interceptions or fumble the ball away. Boston College is ranked in the top-15 in the nation in turnover margin and the only way they’ll be able to stay in the game.
- Force BC to beat you through the air
AJ Dillon is one of the best running backs in the nation, even if he is injured. The Clemson defense has been elite in rush defense all season.
The Tigers need to continue that Saturday and force Boston College to beat them through the air.
Overall, Clemson football is the better team. It’s just going to take the Tigers showing up and giving their best effort. If they do that, we’ll see Clemson come out with a victory, remain undefeated on the season and clinch the ACC Atlantic Division.
