How does Boston College beat Clemson football Saturday evening? Here’s our look at the Eagles could present problems for the Tigers.
We’ve been ask this question several times by many different Clemson football fans: How does Boston College beat the Tigers Saturday night?
I think we all can agree that the Eagles have the ability to keep the game close for a while, but no one really believes they can pull off the upset.
Here are the troubles that the Tigers could face against Boston College Saturday night.
Naming the potential troubles…
- Boston College pass-rushers
- The cold weather
- AJ Dillon-Anthony Brown duo
- Boston College’s physicality on both sides of the ball
These are the things that I can come up with when I think about this game. I do believe that Boston College’s pass-rushers, especially Zach Allen, could get into the backfield and create some problems for Clemson in the passing game.
They aren’t your typical pass-rushers. They don’t try finesse moves to go around offensive tackles, instead they like to try to overpower offensive linemen and collapse the pocket.
Clemson could also face a few troubles with the weather. What I think about is how hard Trevor Lawrence throws the ball. With temperatures expected in the 30s, the wide receivers could have some trouble catching the ball, especially early on.
AJ Dillon and Anthony Brown are both talented guys, but nothing that Clemson’s defense hasn’t faced before. The question, though, is if these two guys can have career-type games against the Tigers like Texas A&M’s Kellen Mond had back in September.
Even with these concerns being raised, there’s still just not a path, in my opinion, to Boston College winning this game as long as Clemson comes out focused.
The Tigers can beat themselves, but there’s no team left in this season that can beat them without some help. It will be interesting to see if Clemson football can continue to play at a high level and get the job done Saturday evening in Chestnut Hill.
