Who could mathematically still wind up in the CFB Playoff for Clemson football to face? Here’s a look heading into Week 11.

Can you believe we only have three weeks of regular season left for Clemson football?

It seems like it wasn’t that long ago we were previewing every aspect of the team and talking about possible quarterback controversies.

Oh, how those days have passed.

Clemson football enters Week 11 with a perfect 9-0 record looking to finish off this season undefeated and head back to the CFB Playoff for the fourth-straight year.

Tonight, the College Football Playoff committee will release its second poll of the season. Here’s a look at the team still vying for a playoff spot and our projected top-10 tonight from the committee.

First, let’s take a look at teams still mathematically in the discussion heading into Week 11 of the 2018 season by conference.

Who’s left?

*A star indicates a team is undefeated. Currently, no two-loss teams are being considered.*

ACC: Clemson*

Big Ten: Michigan, Ohio State

Big 12: Oklahoma, West Virginia

Pac-12: Washington State

SEC: Alabama*, Georgia

Other: Notre Dame*, UCF*

That’s right, we’re down to basically 10 teams for the four spots. I guess there are a few two-loss teams that could wind back up in the conversation if a bunch of these teams lost down the stretch, but right now, I’d say that your field of four is going to come from these 10 teams.

Alabama and Clemson have pretty much locked up those first two spots, assuming they win out. Following them, you have undefeated Notre Dame and a bunch of other one-loss teams.

If you have a scenario where Bama, Clemson and Notre Dame all win out, then the final spot will be given to a one-loss conference champion. I think Michigan would be given the benefit of the doubt if they went undefeated. If it was down to a one-loss Ohio State and a one-loss West Virginia, Oklahoma, or Washington State, I think the committee gives the spot to the Buckeyes because of their corruptness.

Either way, here’s our projected top-10 tonight for the College Football Playoff rankings.

  1. Alabama
  2. Clemson
  3. Notre Dame
  4. Michigan
  5. Georgia
  6. Oklahoma
  7. Washington State
  8. Ohio State
  9. West Virginia
  10. UCF

Although I do believe that LSU could stay at No. 10 over UCF despite having two loss, this is what I think the rankings will look like when they’re announced Tuesday evening.
