It seems as if Clemson football is on a direct collision course with Alabama for the National Championship. Tide fans think the Tigers don’t stand a chance.

The Clemson football team destroyed Louisville Saturday 77-16 in a game that wasn’t even as close as the score indicates.

While the game was complete dominance, the Tigers’ biggest competition the College Football world- Alabama- defeated LSU on the road 29-0.

While no one will be arguing the fact that the Crimson Tide should clearly be the No. 1 team in the country right now, some are going a bit overboard here with their analysis on the landscape of College Football.

Here’s what a few fans had to say about the potential Alabama vs. Clemson matchup in the CFB Playoff.

Roll Tide?

This fan believes that Alabama wouldn’t just beat Clemson, but that they would beat the Tigers by more than 30 points. I guess he thinks that Clemson will just lay down and that the Tigers have less offensive ability than atrocious performance put on by LSU’s offense in the game Saturday night.

We’ve all heard how Trevor Lawrence stands no chance against that vaunted Alabama defense. The Crimson Tide certainly looked good tonight against that pro-style offense that LSU runs. But, I’m not so sure that they will matchup well with an up-tempo spread like Clemson runs now that the Tigers have a quarterback that can throw the ball down the field.

Alabama’s secondary hasn’t been tested and they’re certainly not as deep as they were a year ago.

I agree that Tua Tagovailoa is a prolific player that deserves credit. He would, without a doubt, be a tough “out” for the Clemson defense. The Tigers would definitely struggle some, in my opinion, to contain both his arm and his legs. But, I still don’t agree with Jake Jake that Clemson isn’t in the same class as Bama.

Now, we know it’s November. When you finally have Gamecock fans coming out and revealing their true allegiances to Alabama, you know that their season is over and the ole’ Crimson Tide hats are coming out. You’ll see more and more of this Alabama love from South Carolina fans, especially if they lose here in the coming weeks. Don’t worry, though. They’ve got Akron coming to town the week of conference championships.

In the end, it doesn’t really matter what people think. Clemson can compete with Alabama. I’m not saying that the Tigers will win, but they certainly have a chance. It’s clearly Alabama, Clemson and then everyone else. The two teams are in a league of their own and I think that’s how most view it.

I respect what Alabama has done this year and the greatness of Tua Tagovailoa. I’m just here to tell you that Clemson isn’t just going to lay down. It will be a fun game and I honestly like the idea of the Tigers being close to a 10-point underdog when the two teams matchup here in the postseason.
