It’s crazy to me that we’re already in the ninth week of College Football. That means we’ve only got basically a little over a month until conference championship games are played, bowl games are determined and the College Football Playoff field is revealed.
Here are our picks against the spread for four games from around the country.

#9 Florida at #7 Georgia
Current Spread: UGA -7
Spread Prediction:
Georgia is a touchdown favorite at home against the Florida Gators in what basically has become the SEC East Division Championship game.
Things, obviously, still could happen in that division, but these two teams seem to have separated themselves from the rest. I’m just not a believer in Florida. I think the Gators aren’t a top-10 team and I believe Georgia has the talent to win the game by more than seven at home.
Tennessee at South Carolina
Current Spread: South Carolina -7.5
Spread Prediction:
Now, we go from a battle of the two top SEC East teams to two of the teams near the bottom of this division.
The Gamecocks haven’t looked great this season, but Tennessee has looked worse. I think South Carolina gets the job done Saturday at home at night and beats the Volunteers by a couple of scores.
#18 Iowa at #17 Penn State
Current Spread: Penn State -6.5
Spread Prediction:
Honestly, I just don’t think either of these teams are very good.
Both are prototypical Big Ten teams that are not going to score a lot of points and aren’t going to make a lot of mistakes. I’m taking Iowa to keep this game within the touchdown spread. Perhaps something along the lines of 20-14 or 23-17.
#22 NC State at Syracuse
Current Spread: Syracuse +2.5
Spread Prediction:
Syracuse is a 2.5-point underdog at home in this game. I think NC State has the more physical defense, but the Orange have the better offense.
Give me Syracuse to win the game outright and, basically, leave but one team in the AP top-25 in the ACC.

- Georgia -7 vs. Florida
- South Carolina -7.5 vs. Tennessee
- Iowa +6.5 vs. Penn State
- Syracuse +2.5 vs. NC State
