Clemson Football: Will NC State game be ESPN College GameDay feature?
Despite ESPN’s poor decision to not broadcast the game in prime time, could College GameDay be coming to Clemson football’s match up with NC State?
After a bye week, Clemson football will be taking on the NC State Wolfpack in a game that will, most likely, decide the ACC Atlantic Division.
Despite the fact that the game could be division-deciding and a battle of two ranked teams, ESPN decided that Ohio State vs. Purdue should go in the prime time slot instead of Clemson vs. NC State.
That was a clear slight to the Tigers and the game in general.
Even with that being said, could ESPN College GameDay still be making its way down to Clemson, S.C.?
ESPN College GameDay coming to Tiger Town?
There are basically three choices for the popular show in Week 8: NC State at Clemson; Colorado at Washington; and Mississippi State at LSU.
All three of those games are battles of top-25 teams and I’d imagine that all three get some play from the show that weekend.
If the game was in a prime time slot, I would say that it would be a guarantee that ESPN College GameDay will be coming to Clemson.
With the game being at 3:30 p.m., though, I think it opens up the door for them to possibly make a trek to other Death Valley for an SEC West match up or out to Washington for a game that could be a preview of the Pac-12 Championship game.
Right now, if you had to ask me where the show was going, I would probably say LSU. I understand that the ACC is down this year and I think ESPN wants to not only push the narrative that the conference is weak, but also that the SEC is great. It’s all about pushing a narrative and that may be the case going forward.
