Clemson football was slighted by ESPN for a home night game slot against an undefeated NC State Wolfpack team next Saturday.

Clemson football absolutely dominated Wake Forest this past Saturday. In doing so, they made ESPN analyst Desmond Howard look like a clown for his comments earlier in the day about the Tigers being a “finesse team.”

I guess that must’ve made ESPN mad.

The television network announced that Clemson vs. NC State, a match up of top-20 undefeated teams that will most likely decided the ACC Atlantic, will be a 3:30 p.m. match up on either ABC or ESPN.

So, who got the prime time game? Ohio State vs. Purdue. Yes, the battle of the Buckeyes vs. a team that doesn’t matter will be played at 7:30 p.m. on ABC, according to Kyle Rowland of the Toledo Blade.

Purdue, for those of you wondering, is a 2-3 team with losses to Eastern Michigan and Northwestern.

Thoughts:

The real reason ESPN put Clemson in the 3:30 p.m. slot didn’t have anything to do with Howard’s comments or Jeff Scott’s reply.

I think it’s just a stupid decision.

I don’t understand in anyway, shape or form how you can put Ohio State-Purdue over Clemson-NC State.

Like I said earlier, the game in Death Valley will decide the ACC Atlantic Division. The game is a battle of two teams that are currently inside the top-20 with the Tigers at No. 4 and the Wolfpack at No. 20.

There’s a shot that NC State could even move up inside the top-17 or so with a few losses ahead of them.

In my opinion, there’s only one game with that Week 8 slate that could be ahead of the Tigers-Wolfpack and that’s Washington vs. Colorado if both teams were to win this weekend.

In the end, nothing about this decision from ESPN makes sense. It’s a slight from the TV network directly to the Clemson football program and it’s just absolutely terrible.
