The Clemson football team will take on the Wake Forest Demon Deacons Saturday afternoon. Here are the early Vegas odds for the match up.

Clemson football (5-0) will take on ACC Atlantic foe Wake Forest Saturday afternoon in Winston-Salem.

The Tigers, who are 2-0 in the ACC, will be looking to get through this game before heading into a bye week in which they can regroup, refocus and refresh.

The last time Clemson went on the road before a bye week, though, there was trouble. For those of you that don’t remember, that was the Syracuse loss back in 2017. Of course, there were a few other factors going against the Tigers in that one, but it’s still something to think about.

Here are the early Vegas odds for Clemson’s match up with Wake Forest.

Clemson Football Vegas Odds:

Opening Line: Wake Forest +17

Opening Over/Under: 62

Thoughts:

The game opens with Clemson as a 17-point favorite. The oddsmakers actually waited on a little bit of clarification on Trevor Lawrence’s injury status before making a decision on where to place the spread.

According to Vegas, they’re expecting a game similar to 47-28.

Offense is the strong suit of this Demon Deacon team, but I’m not sure they score more than about 24, even with garbage time considered.

The encouraging stat is that in the two Power-Five opponents that Wake Forest has played, they gave up 41 to Boston College and 56 to Notre Dame.

Trevor Lawrence should be able to play vs. Wake Forest. dark. Next

The Tigers should be able to put up some points pretty early and often. As a matter of fact, I look for this to be a statement kind of game.  I think you’ll see the offense play its best game of the year against Wake Forest and leave everyone on a high-note heading into the bye week.

We will give our official spread prediction later this week, but right now I have to say that I’m leaning towards taking Clemson minus the points.
