Clemson Football: Scoring Prediction vs. Syracuse Orange
The Clemson football team will take on the Syracuse Orange at noon in Death Valley. Here is our scoring prediction for the match up.
Clemson football will host the Syracuse Orange in a game that has been marked as a “revenge match up.”
The Tigers were bested by Syracuse last year, getting upset by the Orange in a Friday the 13th game that left everyone wishing they could forget about it.
Now, Clemson will have the chance to right the ship and get back in the win column against a Syracuse team that comes into this game with confidence and a 4-0 record.
Here is our final analysis and scoring prediction for the game Saturday.
Analysis:
Obviously, all eyes will be on freshman quarterback Trevor Lawrence getting his first start of his young career.
Lawrence looked very impressive against Georgia Tech and I think we should expect much of the same in this one as well.
I wouldn’t be surprised to see the Tigers get off to a bit of a slow start and then settle into the game near the midway point of the first quarter. Defensively, Clemson was beaten pretty soundly by Syracuse a year ago.
The Orange, led by quarterback Eric Dungey, were able to pick apart that Tiger secondary and get the ball out quick into space and make plays. It will be interesting to see how the defense adjusts from last year’s debacle and if they can come away with a better performance this time around.
Scoring Prediction:
Clemson 49, Syracuse 24
I think the Tigers are able to put up some points, but I think this one is also close for a while. We should all walk away from this one with some questions answered, but others still left to be seen. It won’t be a domination like most hope, but I do think it should be a decent win for Clemson in Death Valley.
