After what most would consider to be a drama-filled week, the Clemson football team will take on the Syracuse Orange Saturday afternoon in Death Valley.

I think it will be good for the team to just get back on the field and put some of this negativity and over abundance of press coverage behind them.

With that being said, let’s take a look at our pick against the spread for the match up.

Clemson Football Pick Against the Spread:

Current Spread: Clemson -25.5

Spread Prediction:

This game started out with Clemson as a 16-point favorite. It has since climbed to 25.5. That’s a huge spread.

I’m of the opinion that Syracuse is going to score some points. The Orange, led by Eric Dungey, know how to get the ball out quick and I’m interested to see if that Tiger secondary is going to be able to hold up against that aerial attack.

It seems to me, though, that Vegas really likes the Clemson offense led by Trevor Lawrence. I think the Tigers score a lot of points, but I do think that the Orange will score some as well.

Clemson wins and wins by a lot, but I’m still going to take Syracuse to cover those points.

Current Over/Under: 65.5

Over/Under Prediction:

65.5 points is a lot of points for a game, but I’m going to take the “over” here. I think Syracuse will score somewhere between the 21-31 point range. Most likely somewhere in the middle.

I think Clemson scores around 40-50 points. Even if both teams are at the bottom of those ranges, they still finish just four points below the number, which is why I’m thinking “over” in this one.
