Syracuse is 4-0 heading into this game. I know the Orange have to be feeling pretty good right now. Talk about what has made Syracuse so successful thus far.

The obvious answer to this is Eric Dungey. When he’s on the field for Syracuse, they’re just a different team. He’s easily the best running back on Syracuse and he plays the quarterback position. Syracuse is the sixth best rushing offense in all of college football, but that’s a bit deceiving because most of that is thanks to Dungey.

The Orange have the best defensive line they’ve had under Dino Babers and that has had a huge impact in trench warfare. That’s especially important because Syracuse lost two of the best linebackers they’ve ever had in this program with Zaire Franklin and Parris Bennett going to the NFL. With that inexperience at linebacker Syracuse has had to mask it with a 4-2-5 base defense and the linebackers have seemingly excelled in their responsibilities.

At the end of the day the success has to be thrown at the feet of head coach Dino Babers he has just motivated this team to be better than they could’ve hoped and players have seemingly played better with that injection of confidence provided by Babers, it’s truly been amazing to watch.
