5) What’s your prediction for the game Saturday?
For me, this game comes down to two major points. The first point is that Brent Venables in his time at Clemson has seemingly gotten better at defending Georgia Tech’s defense and always seems to be a step ahead of Tech’s play calling.
Sometimes it appears that Venables knows what Paul Johnson is going to call even before Paul Johnson knows what he’s going to call. The second point is that Clemson is just a bigger, faster, and more athletic team than Georgia Tech at every position.
The Yellow Jackets may be able to hang around for a quarter or two but I expect Clemson to pull away in the third quarter at the latest.
Heading into the fourth quarter I wouldn’t be shocked with a 31-10 type score before Clemson puts on a garbage time touchdown or two. So for a final score, I’ll go….41-17 Clemson wins. Though 17 points against this Clemson defense may be a little generous.
