Two-QB system with defined roles

The difference between this offense and the “multiple schemes” system, is the fact that you could see the quarterbacks switched in-and-out of the game like any other position.

On 1st and 2nd down, you could see Trevor Lawrence. On 3rd down, it could be Kelly Bryant. Could there be a formation where both guys see the field at the same time?

In this type of offense, you use Trevor Lawrence for his arm and you use Kelly Bryant for his legs.

Does Bryant still throw the ball? Yes. Does Lawrence still have a few designed runs? Of course. But, you try to play to each guy’s strength.

The tough part about this is the fact that you can become really predictable. Opposing defenses will start to figure out that Lawrence is only going to throw the ball and that leads to a facet of the offense being left out. Defenses will stack the box against Kelly Bryant and try to force him to throw the ball.

Next. Grading Trevor Lawrence's performance vs. Georgia Southern. dark

It’s tough to really know what to do with the Clemson offense. The good thing is we don’t have to. I trust that the coaches will figure out and we should trust that the staff will do what’s best for the team.
