Clemson football will travel to Texas A&M this Saturday to take on the Aggies. How will the quarterbacks rotate for the first road game of the year?

The Clemson football team will travel to College Station to take on the Texas A&M Aggies Saturday evening in a game that will be nationally televised and featured on ESPN College GameDay.

We’ve all heard by now that the coaching staff is planning to play both Kelly Bryant and Trevor Lawrence at quarterback.

From everything we’ve been told, both of the guys have earned playing time and will continue to rotate at the position. We also know that Kelly Bryant, until otherwise noted, will be the starter with Lawrence coming in at select times.

The question for this week is exactly how the quarterbacks will rotate.

Against Furman, the coaching staff gave Kelly Bryant the entire first quarter and gave Trevor Lawrence the entire second quarter.

They went back to Bryant for a few possessions in the third before giving Lawrence a couple more possessions toward the end of the third and the beginning of the fourth quarter.

At Texas A&M, I could see a similar strategy be implemented. What I think you’ll see is Kelly Bryant get the first three to four possessions of the game and play pretty much the entire first quarter.

Lawrence will probably first see the field at the end of the first quarter or the beginning of the second quarter.

The true-freshman will then be given a couple of possessions to prove whether he is ready for an environment like Kyle Field or not.

I think the coaches will make an evaluation of both quarterbacks about midway through the second quarter and then make a decision about how they will rotate for the rest of the game.

If they are pleased with both performances, they may elect to go back to Kelly Bryant to start the second half and then insert Lawrence similar to the Furman game. If something were to happen where one of the guys did not impress them or made several mistakes, they may elect to stick with one quarterback for the rest of the game.

In the end, I think the coaches will have a plan going into the match up, but that there will be a ton of in-game strategy as to how the rotate the two guys in and out of the game.
