September 15: vs. Georgia Southern Eagles

Back in the friendly confines of Death Valley for Game 3, this is when we’ll really start to see the QB competition pick up.

I’d say that we have a pretty good handle on how the quarterbacks will be shaping up after the Texas A&M game, but all eyes will be on them against Georgia Southern.

The Eagles, just like Furman, will look to run the ball early and often. Georgia Southern only averaged throwing the ball 16 times per game last season. That number isn’t expected to be much higher in 2018.

Georgia Southern returns its top two leading rushers from last season: Running back Wesley Fields and quarterback Shai Werts.

I don’t expect that rushing attack to have much success against that staunch Clemson defensive line, though.

Prediction: Clemson 56, Georgia Southern 7
