Clemson Football Recruiting: 4-star Linebacker commits to the Tigers
The 2020 Clemson football recruiting class received a big commitment Thursday evening when a 4-star linebacker committed to the Tigers.
The 2020 Clemson football recruiting cycle is already picking up.
The Tigers received their second commitment of the class when 4-star linebacker Sergio Allen announced his decision after an unofficial visit to Clemson Thursday.
Allen joins 5-star DT Demonte Capehart, of Hartsville, SC, as the two early commitments for the 2020 cycle.
A Talented Linebacker…
When watching Allen’s film, I see a lot of things to like.
Allen is the type of guy that isn’t easily fooled by a play-action and is able to regroup from that natural hesitation.
He can guard receivers and get in the backfield and make plays. He is really good in pursuit and Allen will be a guy that is able to make an impact for Clemson football one day.
Obviously, he’s still got some time before he arrives on campus. Two more high school seasons, to be exact.
It will be fun to watch him progress over this year and next and see what kind of player he can truly turn into. I think there’s certainly potential for Allen to be a 5-star linebacker across the recruiting services before it’s all said and done.
He’s already 6-2, but isn’t necessarily done growing. This is a solid get for the Tigers, who will be looking for some linebacker depth in the 2020 class.
Allen was recruited heavily by Brent Venables, as well as Todd Bates. I would say that he was high on the target board for Venables and, once again, the talented defensive coordinator came away with his guy.
The 2020 Clemson football recruiting cycle is just getting underway. It will be fun to see how some of the Tiger targets progress and the emphasis that the coaches put on certain guys as the live period opens back up.
