Clemson Football: Top 30 Tigers to play under Dabo Swinney
22. Thomas Austin
Now, here’s a name that is certainly a “blast from the past.”
Thomas Austin played both center and guard in his time at Clemson, but only played two years under Dabo Swinney- 2008 when Swinney the interim coach and 2009 in his first year as head coach.
In 2009, Austin was named a third-team All-American by Sporting News and second-team All-ACC.
He was one of the offensive linemen that you could just trust to get the job done. In addition to be really consistent, Austin was also a huge vocal leader for Clemson during some tough times.
In a time of transition- from Bowden to Swinney- he provided that veteran leadership that was needed.
