Clemson football WR Amari Rodgers could quietly work his way up to becoming an All-American. The sophomore is listed as a starter on the WR depth chart.

Clemson football wide receiver Amari Rodgers is a guy that many people mention, but not many talk about.

Here’s what I mean.

Rodgers is listed among the “names” when people begin spouting off wide receivers. When analysts talk about how deep the Tigers are at the position, his name gets thrown around a lot. Typically right after Tee Higgins and right before Hunter Renfrow.

While his name is mentioned quite a bit, I don’t think we give enough credit to him as a player.

Consistency is Key…

I think people take Rodgers for granted because of the consistency that they just expect him to provide.

Rodgers is almost the exact same player as Artavis Scott, except I think he has a higher ceiling. People never gave Scott the credit he deserved either.

When you look at Rodgers, he is the type of wide receiver that can do a little bit of it all. That’s why he is the starter at the “field” position.

He will run post routes and occasionally work deep routes, but he will also do a lot of work underneath, in the flats and in the screen game. He will never be the “home run hitter.” But, he could very well end up leading Clemson in receptions and putting together a nice season.

I think it’s certainly in his wheelhouse to earn All-American honors before his career as a Tiger comes to a close, but if he does, he will do so quietly. A reception here, a reception there, a touchdown here, a touchdown there.

You can expect to see consistency out of Rodgers. You will see him do it all this season and he definitely deserves a little bit of recognition for the work he is going to do.
