4. Mitch Hyatt, Jackson Carman shaping up

Speaking of weights, Robbie Caldwell told the media that Jackson Carman has lost approximately 20 pounds over the summer.

That may mean that we will see Carman play the offensive tackle position more often. He could still play guard, as well, but I think he’s training to play more tackle.

Losing that weight will only make the freshman that much more agile.

While Carman is losing weight, Mitch Hyatt has been challenged to gain weight.

Hyatt played left tackle last season at around 300-305. The coaching staff want Hyatt to bulk up a little bit and play at a heavier weight this season. I’d imagine something like 312-315 is what they’re shooting for, but they didn’t specify.
