Clemson football graduate Richard Yeargin is buried on the defensive end depth chart. That won’t stop him from getting plenty of playing time.

Clemson football defensive end Richard Yeargin is set to make an unforgettable return in the 2018 season.

Yeargin, a graduate student, suffered a neck injury in a car accident and missed the entire 2017 season. He is still recovering a bit and because of that, Yeargin is listed fourth on the defensive end depth chart.

While his name may not be atop the depth chart right now, Richard Yeargin will make a huge impact on the 2018 Clemson football season.

A Forgotten Gem…

Because of that neck injury a year ago, many people have forgotten just how much of a role Yeargin played on the 2015 and 2016 teams.  While he didn’t fill up the stat sheet, he did a great job coming in and not letting the quality of play fall off.

As a matter of fact, you couldn’t tell a difference from when Yeargin was on the field vs. a starter.

He will provide that kind of leadership and quality this season, as well.

Yeargin plays with a motor that never stops and does all the little things that make a good defensive end. He will be yet another great mentor for the young Xavier Thomas, KJ Henry and Justin Mascoll as they begin their college careers.

I really look forward to seeing him back in a Clemson football uniform.

Yeargin was a guy that I was extremely excited about back before last season’s injury. I expect him to pick up right where he left off and provide a great amount of depth for Clelin Ferrell and Austin Bryant.

Without a doubt, Yeargin is one of the least-talked about pieces of this dominant defensive line and he certainly deserves some recognition.
