Many Clemson football fans have forgotten about running back Tavien Feaster. Feaster is currently listed as the second-string, but he will prove his star rating in 2018.
The 2018 Clemson football team is loaded with talent and playmakers all over the field.
The Tigers have many skill players that have a chance to play on Sundays before it’s all said and done. We talk extensively about sophomores Tee Higgins and Travis Etienne, as well others like Amari Rodgers, Hunter Renfrow and Diondre Overton.
One that we may forget about sometimes, though, is Tavien Feaster.
When Feaster arrived on campus, he was considered to be the next C.J. Spiller. He was given that No. 28 jersey and even wore a Spiller patch on the side of the jersey.
Feaster had a very productive freshman season with limited playing time, but didn’t take a huge step forward as a sophomore.
Proving His Stars…
Feaster earned the starting position at running back in 2017, but was overshined by freshman Phenom Travis Etienne.
Etienne earned the starting job following this spring and that has left many Clemson football fans wondering.
Feaster admitted that he didn’t play at his optimal weight in 2017. He said that he was planning to lose some weight and play healthier this season. Now, he has his motivation.
Etienne will certainly earn starter snaps, as he should. He is explosive, fast and one of the best running backs in the nation.
But, I believe that Feaster will prove his 5-star rating this season, as well. You will continue to see flashes of Feaster’s greatness this season. He will break off long runs and do a great job in pass-protection. By the end of the season, Clemson’s running backs will be recognized as one of the best duos in the nation.

Feaster has the talent and ability to be a special back. He was a bit overshined as a sophomore, but I think you’ll see him play a much better season as a Junior.
