4. The DL is the best in school history

Now, this may or may not be considered a “bold prediction.”

I think the Clemson defensive line in 2018 will be the best in the nation by far. The Tigers not only have All-Americans at every single starting position, but they also have quality depth with guys like Albert Huggins, Xavier Kelly, Richard Yeargin, KJ Henry, Xavier Thomas, and the list goes on and on.

In addition to being the best in the nation, I think this particular group will become the best in school history.

That includes the defensive lines of the 1980s and early ’90s. That includes a time when the Tigers had guys like The Fridge, Michael Dean Perry, Vic Beasley, Da’Quan Bowers, Jeff Bryant, and many others.

It’s no disrespect to those other guys, I just think there’s too much talent for this not to be the best DL in school history.

I mean, how many years can Clemson, let alone any school, boast four potential first round draft picks on one defensive line? The Tigers’ defensive line, at least the starters, this season could be better than some NFL front-fours. That’s how good they are.
