3. Derion Kendrick
It didn’t take long for a freshman to find his way on our list.
Derion Kendrick is just a special player.
I’ve seen him play a lot in high school and came away completely impressed with how explosive he truly was. Kendrick is the type of guy that can literally make an entire defense miss.
As a matter of fact, that’s exactly what he did in high school.
Kendrick, who played quarterback, took on the entire defense, found running lanes, and took the ball to the house on many, many occasions.
Now, the true-freshman will move to wide receiver. In the U.S. Army All-American Game, Kendrick made several highlight-level plays. From what we’ve heard, he has taken that same explosiveness to Clemson.
That’s why he is already listed as a co-backup with Cornell Powell at a wide receiver spot. You’re not going to keep Kendrick off the field and, in my opinion, I think you’ll see the coaching staff look for specific ways to get the ball in the young freshman’s hands before the season is over.
